Description of Orly Airport in Paris

Paris Orly Airport is the second largest international commercial airport in Paris with an annual passenger volume of over 35 million. It is located about 9 kilometers south of Paris, partly in Orly and partly in Villeneuve-le-Roi. The distance to the city center of Paris is about 18 kilometers.

Before Air France moved to Charles de Gaulle Airport, it had its hub at Orly Airport. Today, Air France mainly operates domestic flights from Orly, as well as flights to the French-speaking countries of Africa.

The only German airline at Paris Orly Airport is Air Berlin. Paris Orly serves as a hub for Corsair International, Transavia France and easyjet. Air France uses it for domestic flights. 

Terminals at the airport:

  • Terminal 1: former West Terminal with boarding gates A, B and C
  • Terminal 2: part of the former West Terminal
  • Terminal 3: connects the terminals with each other, boarding gate D is located here
  • Terminal 4: former South Terminal with boarding gates E and F

Which options are available?

  • OrlyBus: The OrlyBus is a bus line between Orly Airport and Paris. Pick up at Denfert-Rochereau in Paris. During rush hour they run every 15-20 minutes between 5:35 to 0:30. The journey time is about 30 minutes and costs 9,5 €. 
  • Metro: The Line 14 route has now been extended to the north and south. With this line, it connects Orly Airport to Saint-Denis Pleyel in 40 minutes. Additionally, you can reach the new southern terminal "Aéroport d'Orly" from Saint-Denis-Pleyel in approximately 40 minutes. Check out the latest news.
  • RER: Rail link between Paris (Denfert-Rochereau, Saint-Michel-Notre-Dame, Gare du Nord) and Paris-Orly Airport. A free Orlyval shuttle (OrlyVal) connects the stations with the airport terminals 1-2 and 4). The total cost is around 12 € and the journey lasts between 25 and 35 minutes.
  • Car: Paris Orly Airport is located in the south-est of Paris. From the Porte d'Orléans, take the A6a Motorway towards Lyon. More on Car Rentals in Paris.

Parking at the Airport

In the direct neighborhood of the terminal, arriving and departing passengers can use 18.000 paid parking spaces in multistory parking lots and open-air parking lots. Drop-off parking spaces are available near each terminal.

Taxi, Uber and Bolt

There are fixed prices for trips from Orly airport to Paris: 32 € for the southern bank of the Seine and 37 € for the northern bank of the Seine.

According to the currently valid taxi-rates, the basic fee for a cab in Paris is 7,10 €, the kilometer price is 1,12 € for the first seven kilometers and 1,65 € for each additional kilometer. Standing and waiting times are charged at 37 € per hour.

You can travel with Uber and Bolt to and from Orly Airport. The cost of the trip depends on the load of the vehicles and the time of the trip. . 

Night tariff:

The night tariff is valid from Monday to Saturday for the time between 17:00 in the evening and 10:00 in the morning and on Sundays all day. During the night the basic charge is 7,10 €, the price per kilometer is 1.12 €, for standing and waiting times 37 € are charged. 

Transfer inside the airport: The Orlyval's automatic trains run between Orly 4 and Orly 1/2/3 and on to the RER stop Antony, where you can change to the RER B line to Paris. The journey between the terminals is free of charge.

Bus for group transfers

Arrangement of buses for airport transfers from or to Paris Orly airport for groups of 12 or more. 

Regional train & long-distance train

The GO C Paris shuttle trains run every 15 to 30 minutes to the RER station Pont de Rungis. Departures are from Exit C of Terminals 1 and 4. From Pont de Rungis, the RER C also runs every 15 to 30 minutes. 

Orlyval runs daily every 5 to 7 minutes to Antony RER station. Departure from Terminal 1, exit K and from Terminal 4, exit W (departure area). From Antony station, the RER B also runs daily every 5 to 7 minutes and offers connections to the city center.

Long-distance trains and ICE trains do not stop at Orly Airport.

Shopping, Stores and Duty-Free

The stores at Paris Orly airport are generally open from Monday to Sunday, many of them from 06:00 to 22:00. 

Perfumeries, jewelers, fashion boutiques, press stores, wine accounts, confectionery stores, libraries, electronics stores and gift shops are available to the travelers.

A supermarket can be found on the lower level of Terminals 1 and 2. 

Duty free at airport

Duty-Free

The choice is huge - from perfumes, through branded clothing, to alcoholic beverages. Duty-free stores can be found in the departure terminals after passport and security checks. They are usually open from 05:00 to 22:00. 


Food

The gastronomic offer is divided into 3 areas, On The Go, Bars and Restaurants. With numerous bistros, cafés and pubs, travelers have a rich choice in all terminals.

Orly Airport Hotels

Two hotels are within walking distance of Paris Orly airport. During the peak travel season, early reservation of rooms is recommended. Here is a small selection. 

  • Novotel Paris Coeur d'Orly: The hotel is located only 5 minutes walk from Terminal 4, Terminals 1 to 3 can be easily reached with the Orlyval shuttle. WLAN is free of charge in the entire hotel area. 
  • Ibis Orly: The hotel is located only 300 m from Paris-Orly airport. Breakfast is served from 4:00 a.m., WLAN is free of charge in the entire hotel area. The hotel also offers a luggage storage service.
